Theme: Water ~ Form: Haiku ~ Device: Simile
Bleeding Blue
Gallops true and strong
In spidery rivulets
with streams long
and thin veins across
In swift infinite circles
Cutting quite a loss
Spilling at the bruise
Thick as life and easy spent
An ocean to ooze
Taken for granted
Shall never change no matter
A heart transplanted
Swim, plunge, dip into
Spirit never condensates
We’ll always bleed blue
I wrote out a sequence of haikus, with an alternating rhyme scheme, drawing a comparison between the water cycle and the circulation of blood in our bodies. Also, considering that the ICC Cricket World Cup is going on now, I wanted to convey how deep cricket runs in the veins of Indians by using our motto ‘Bleed blue’.
